Centrally located in the heart of Jimboomba; peacefully rural, situated on 28 acres with ducks and chickens. Hares, cockatoos & kookaburras are regularly within the grounds and kangaroos are occasional visitors. The Centres are surrounded by gardens and within the grounds there are ponds and dams which encourage birdlife including wild ducks, pelicans, ibis, herons, cormorants, moorhens and on occasions, pelicans. Rescued turtles have been released into the dams by local wildlife carers.
Johanna Street ELC is a Long Day Care Service with
two child care centres. Both centre's playgrounds are aesthetically unique with interesting and physically challenging equipment. Visiting each others playgrounds encourages the children to make new friendships and also allows them to experience
different play environments.
Hundreds of trees are planted throughout the grounds including gum trees for future koala habitat along with nesting boxes placed in native trees for birds and possums. Native bees help pollinate the crops in our veggie patches. Children's food scraps are feed to the resident animals.
Solar power is helping to reduce our carbon footprint. Art and craft is primarily made from recycled and/or natural materials collected during Bush Kindy excursions.
