Bush Kindy School is a long-term inclusive learning process that aims to raise self-awareness and self-esteem in children. Regular sessions take place in our bush like environment located in our nature paddock, directly across from both centres, where the landscape itself adds to the experience of learning. Our Mission is to foster a love and compassion for the natural world through rich and meaningful outdoor experiences, investigatory self-directed learning and small achievable tasks.

A trained educator in forest school principals will facilitate each Bush Kindy School session for activities such as:

  • Exploring the natural environment, exploring animal habitats, exploring bodies of water

  • Tree climbing, creating shelters

  • Fire lighting and cooking over open flame

  • Visual arts using natural materials, mud painting

  • Using tools such as bow saws, mallets, peelers, knives, binoculars

  • Education on ecological care and preservation

For the safety and well-being of your child, please provide the following for all paddock excursions:

  • Long sleeved shirt and trousers to help protect children from the sun, bites and stings

  • Enclosed shoes such as sneakers, boots or gumboots

  • Broad brimmed or legionnaire styled hat

  • Drink bottle

You also may provide insect repellent (with a pharmacy label stating your child’s name) to stay at the service and to be applied before excursions.

Please note that children without the above appropriate clothing will NOT be able to attend the excursion. This is strictly for children’s health, safety and well-being.
